We are hosting a Garden Tour to highlight the rich history and roots our community has in agriculture and gardening. Included in your ticket: The beauty of a dozen gardens, a dive into history through demonstrations & speakers, exploration & learning, and a locally sourced garden-inspired lunch.

About the event

Our self-guided and self-paced tour will highlight a variety of private and public gardens while uniquely showcasing history at each stop. Two historic homes will be featured on the tour to transport us to the past as we take in the beautiful exteriors of these homes. 

This is a day of learning and exploration! All ages are welcome to attend! We cannot wait to share with you what we have planned!

 

Schedule of Events

    8:45-9:15   Check in at the Centennial Log Cabin in Memorial Park 

 Upon check-in, you will receive a map, and descriptions of each garden

 

 8:45-9:30  Centennial Log Cabin in Memorial Park will be open to view farming implements and artifacts  

 

   12:45    Garden-inspired, locally sourced lunch will be available beginning at 12:45 to be enjoyed during our presentations 

 **Lunch is included in your ticket cost. 

                   **Lunch will be made & assembled by local businesses and the New Prague Area Historical Society board members.

    1:00     Presentation by Dennis Dvorak & local Master Gardeners 

                          Dennis will speak on Victory Gardens during WWII, Local Gardens, & the Hobby of Gardening

                          We will conclude with a Gardening Presentation and Q & A with the Master Gardeners.

$10/Ticket (Includes tour access & a light garden-inspired, locally sourced lunch) 

  • If possible, please purchase online in advance to allow us to plan accordingly.
  • Proceeds go to the New Prague Area Historical Society to continue to preserve and share our local history.

Weather, Accommodations, & Refunds

  • Tour & presentation are rain or shine.
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Bathrooms are available at Memorial Park.
  • Bathrooms will not be available at private gardens.
  • Please plan accordingly by remaining hydrated, and wearing sunscreen or bug spray if needed.
  • Tickets are non-refundable.
